Johnny Appleseed has been famous in children's books, movies and cartoons for years. People of all ages love him because of his fairytale story and the wonderful little green men.

 

He was a very lucky man because the apple orchards were near the woods and they made him the most basic resource. Because of this he could grow many apples that everyone wanted and none of the people wanted to get them. That is how he made his living, making apples for the wealthy landowners and helping the commoners out of poverty.

 

Most adults know Johnny Appleseed, but some may not know that this man, whom many may consider as a hero of our time, had a great deal of trouble getting public assistance when he first got his first big check. It was during World War I and the government needed money and so he had to pay a 50% tax for being rich. He also had to help with rebuilding, and so on.

 

He also was a very patriotic man and he made a lot of money helping the United States to get into war.
